Zoom and Their Security
Problem - Commvault’s employees are currently working from home due to the coronavirus, and they are holding meetings with each other on Zoom. Zoom’s security was not very strong, hackers could have joined groups without people knowing, or they could even write messages posing as other people. This is a security problem to Commvault, as private information about the company could have been stolen.


Solution - Commvault should do their research on what applications are the most secure, and if any of them have any flaws. One video conferencing app that Commvault should use is “Wire”. This app allows video and phone calling, and is end to end encrypted. Wired does not keep any data on its servers. You do have to pay to use Wire, but knowing that you will have security while using the service, and knowing that the app is not storing data, it is worth spending the money in exchange for secure calls for your business.

 
Social Media Information Systems
Problem - Commvault only uses their social media to give updates on the kind of software they use. They do not have a specific target audience they have when it comes to promoting their company. They are a B2B business which only provides their services to other businesses. Commvault only advertises to big companies and not small companies.


Solution - Commvault should first get Enterprise Social Network platform for employees to work together. When it comes to the use of social media, There are three roles social media information systems can play which are the providers, the users, and the communities. Commvault should look into expanding their social media presence and get more audience. With more audience means you can get more money and traffic on your website. While they are just targeting big companies and don’t have a target audience they should target smaller businesses that also because smaller businesses need their data recovered more than bigger companies.



VPN went down because of firewall
Problem - The Virtual Private Network went down because somebody broke through the firewall without the access of Commvault. The VPN is a private network that can share data across public networks as if the devices were on a private network. When it comes to the firewall it is a computer device that prevents unauthorized access.


Solution - There are many solutions to what Commvault can do to improve and protect their firewall. One of them is to train your employees better with the best practices and the updated guidelines for this doesn’t happen again. Another way they can protect the VPN using a firewall at Commvault is to keep the operating system updated and regularly do tests on it. Encrypt your network because it is hard for hackers or other threats can’t get access.
